Job Description

Nestled just thirty feet above the stunning sapphire waters, Pedn Olva offers breathtaking views of St Ives harbour and the golden sands that surround it.

We're not just located in a beautiful destination; we’re on the verge of an exciting transformation! Starting in January 2025, we're embarking on a multi-million pound refurbishment project aimed at elevating our guest experience and enhancing our facilities, transforming this pub into the place to be, not only in St Ives, but in the whole of the southwest!

You’ll be working at a landmark hotel that attracts visitors and locals alike to its scenic bar and sun-drenched terraces. St Ives itself is a stunning location that boasts a collection of glorious beaches, with quaint streets and alleys dotted with art galleries, cafes, and shops.

With live-in accommodation featuring three comfortable bedrooms located nearby in Carbis Bay, you’ll be able to enjoy this idyllic setting both at work and at home.

About you:

  • You head up the front of the business, leading a team of passionate team members to deliver experiences that delight.
  • You champion the spirit and values of St Austell Brewery, inspiring those around you and setting a glowing example for them to follow.
  • Closely monitoring your team’s performance gives you the insight to give praise where it’s due, provide constructive feedback, and nurture talent.
  • You oversee all aspects of finance and admin procedures with ease. No detail goes unchecked.
  • You’ll establish strong relationships with stakeholders and customers.
  • Having a wealth of experience in a similar role means you are able to recognise when team members need help and you’ll support where needed.
  • You’re a natural leader, communicating brilliantly with your team and delegating to hit and exceed targets.
  • Keeping a watchful eye over customer feedback means your team is always adapting to maintain high standards and improve where necessary.
  • Peak season can get pretty busy, but you thrive when working under pressure.
  • Communication is key, and you recognise the importance of being an effective listener - ensuring everyone is on the same page while remaining approachable and informative.

What we will offer you in return:

  • A competitive salary.
  • Company benefits discount card, which includes 30% off food & drink in our managed houses and 50% off accommodation.
  • Pension scheme, contribution-based.
  • A supportive health cash plan.
  • Fantastic training & career development opportunities.
  • Exceptional bonus scheme.
  • Healthcare cashback plan.
  • Three bed live in accommodation
