The Morgon 2023 reveals a bright garnet-red colour. Its nose is intense with aromas of blackberry, blueberry and wild strawberry. Round and fresh on the palate, it develops notes of black cherry and clove. Beautiful persistence.
Morgon is one of the top producing Beaujolais Crus along with Brouilly, Moulin-a-Vent, and of course, Fleurie. The soil in Morgon sets its wines apart from the other Beaujolais Crus due to a higher percentage of sand and shale. Consequently, the wines are firmer and darker in colour, full-bodied with an ability to age.
