Full dark red. Soft Merlot, firm Cabernet and ripe, dark Malbec come together perfectly in this smooth integrated blend.
This is such clever wine making skill from Gordon Russell. He has combined these Bordeaux varieties, that grow so exceptionally well in the Gimblett Gravels sub region of Hawkes Bay, to produce a wine of intensity and complexity. Serious stuff, and yet fun to taste blind against its French counterparts, where it often comes out on top. A great discovery.
