Our flagship beer from Bath Ales, Gem has established itself as a firm favourite in the Bristol area and further afield throughout the West Country. A main partner sponsor of Premiership rugby club, Bath Rugby, Gem can be enjoyed at the ground and the branding appears on the playing kit and ground boards. Gem in bottles, 4.8%, has been approved by the Coeliac association as gluten free. Although Gem contains gluten and wheat, we follow strict guidelines at Hare brewery to meet the association’ requirements and then break down the gluten post fermentation. Every batch of beer is tested twice, once during the process and then again once in bottle, by an external laboratory to guarantee the gluten has been removed to it is below the threshold. Only then do we release the stock for it to be uses.
