What's on in Cornwall - November 2021

N ovember marks the beginning of seasonal celebrations, from magnificent firework displays on Bonfire Night to the festive magic found at Christmas markets.

Cornwall is also set to welcome events celebrating innovation in film from around the world. Here are some of the best upcoming events to make a note of in your diary.

 

BONFIRE NIGHT (5th-6th)

You’ll find colourful displays taking place across the county, from pubs and villages to large town and showground gatherings. There aren’t many locations where you can celebrate Bonfire Night with fireworks bursting over the ocean. The best events include Looe Fireworks Display, Heartlands Fireworks & Bonfire Spectacular, Tregony Fireworks Evening, and Cornwall Drive-in Fireworks Spectacular at the Royal Cornwall Showground.

 

CORNWALL CHRISTMAS FAIR (10th-11th)

The Eden Link Building, which sits between the two biomes, will host its annual Christmas event over two days in November. The Cornwall Christmas Fair brings together a colourful range of gifts, home accessories, ethical fashion, jewellery, and much more. There’s also a tasty variety of food and drink to be found in the Ginsters Food Hall. The stallholders donate 15% of all takings to Cornwall Community Foundation. Get tickets here.

 

OCEAN FILM FESTIVAL (11th)

Immerse yourself in a brand-new collection of incredible ocean films from around the world at Redruth’s Regal Cinema. The team behind the Banff Mountain Film Festival UK & Ireland Tour has curated the selection, which showcases a fascinating celebration of our oceans. You’ll see stories from surfers, paddlers, divers, and oceanographers, with footage from above and below the surface. Book your ticket here.

 

CORNWALL FILM FESTIVAL (15th-21st)

Falmouth’s Princess Pavilions is the new home of Cornwall Film Festival. Now in its 20th year, the week-long event showcases the most innovative and adventurous developments in the industry. This year will also mark the introduction of a new programme of creative media projects. Digital Futures is designed to equip young people to become ‘digital citizens’ of the future, with an emphasis on health, wellbeing, and creativity. Get tickets here.

 

HOLMBUSH INN 80S QUIZ NIGHT (24th)
