What’s On in Cornwall and Devon - June 2022

J une brings an exciting wave of festivals and events to Cornwall and Devon, including many of the South West’s annual highlights.

From a whimsical garden fete featuring a woodland silent disco to the UK’s best beach music festival, global superstars taking the stage at the Eden Sessions, and Cornwall’s largest agricultural show, there’s truly something for everyone to enjoy. Better still, you can expect to see special appearances from St Austell Brewery along the way – find out more below!

Great Estate Festival (2nd-5th)

A garden fete like no other, the Great Estate Festival returns with headliners Manic Street Preachers, Black Grape, and Ibibio Sound Machine. This much-loved festival is set in the elegant grounds of Scorrier House, near Redruth, and welcomes visitors from far and wide to its eclectic mix of sights and sounds. Navigate ancient pathways to mystical venues across the grounds. These include a tree-covered secret gin garden, a peaceful sanctuary, a children’s playground, and Madame Wong’s House of Wrong – a curious stage for sword-swallowing, comedy, and everything in between.

This year will feature a new immersive korev experience, built using reclaimed materials and ocean plastic collected by Beach Guardian. There’ll also be a korev silent disco running late in the woods. We’ve been working hard behind the scenes to bring something extra special to this year's festival. It's set to be one to remember. Be sure to secure your tickets and come check it out! Get tickets here.

SkyBar Watergate Bay (3rd-5th)

SkyBar is a pop-up bar event which appears at stunning locations throughout the summer months. DJs, live music, al fresco food, stunning sunset views, fresh cocktails, and refreshing beer all come together to create the perfect après sea party atmosphere. It’s set to hit Watergate Bay over the June bank holiday weekend, with highlights including Danny Howard and a sunset party overlooking the spectacular coastline. There’ll be plenty of korev flowing too. It’s always a sellout, so be sure to get tickets here.

Royal Cornwall Show (9th-11th)

The county’s largest annual event is set to return following a two-year break. The three-day show will welcome a variety of exhibits and activities that feature live entertainment, interactive competitions, and the very best of Cornwall’s produce and farming.

Head to the St Austell Brewery area to sample our flagship beers - including our newly released Anthem golden pale ale. John Hooker, Head Chef at the Cornish Arms, will be running a food stand here across the three days – don’t miss out on sampling his culinary delights. Be sure to watch the Fisherman’s Friends too, who will be performing on Saturday at 12pm. Get tickets here.

Eden Sessions (15th-29th)

The Eden Project undoubtedly ranks among the UK’s most visually impressive concert venues, and a ticket includes admission to its mesmerising biomes, which are illuminated during the show. This month will see an enviable collection of global acts take to the stage, including Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds (15th), Nine Inch Nails (17th & 18th), Diana Ross (21st), and Bryan Adams (29th). The streets of Falmouth come alive to the sound of traditional sea shanties as countless singing groups perform classic songs throughout the town. It’s the largest free nautical music and song festival in Europe and attracts people from all over the world each year. Bask in the sun, revel in the atmosphere, and enjoy a beer or two as shanties ring out and old stories are retold across two fun-filled days.
