Unveiling our new seasonal menus

W ith a focus on vegan and gluten-free, as well as locally sourced ingredients, we're excited to offer new menus in our managed houses.

Highlights include beer-battered vegan ‘fish’ and chips, warm hand-picked crab tart and game ragu pappardelle.

We have refreshed our menus to include more vegan, gluten-free, and locally-sourced options than ever before. More than three-quarters of dishes on the menus are suitable for coeliacs, or dishes that can be altered for gluten-free requirements.

According to recent consumer research by Kantar, 29% of British consumers now consider themselves to be more environmentally conscious, which increased from 23% on the previous year. With the COP26 conference set to take place in Glasgow in the next few weeks, sustainability, protecting the environment, and provenance are valued more than ever by customers. Because of this, people are continuing to evolve their diet and choosing to eat more mindfully.

The fact that our new autumn and winter menus cater to a larger audience is an aspect that we're particularly proud of.

Commenting on the launch of the new menus, Lewis Allington, Head of Food, said:


W e are proud to be unveiling our most inclusive food menus to date across our pubs, inns, and hotels, catering to a more diverse audience than ever before.

“All our menus still deliver the delicious pub classics that our customers know us for - such as fish and chips and burgers - but we have been able to make these options gluten-free and vegan-friendly, catering to a much wider audience in the South West and providing more choice for our customers. For example, our vegan ‘fish’ is made with banana blossom and the beer batter is created with one of our delicious gluten-free ales, making it suitable for coeliacs too.” 

The new menus also highlight our strong relationships with local suppliers across the West Country including Etheringtons for meat produce, Mathew Stevens for fresh fish, Tilley’s gluten-free bread, and coffee from the Cornish Coffee Company.


Discussing his inspiration behind the autumn and winter menus, Lewis continued:

“We are continually striving to learn more about our customers, both within our local communities and those that visit us in our region."
